Highlights

EarthCODE: NEW CALL OPEN

EarthCODE is a new ESA EO initiative to ensure long-term access and reuse of  Earth System Science data and methods (code). Integrating EO platform services based on various technologies such as pangeo stack and openEO, it empowers scientists to adopt FAIR Open Science and publish reproducible research. A call for new subcontractors is open until 7 April 2025.

HOW TO APPLY

ESA APEx: SERVICES TO STREAMLINE EO INNOVATION TO OPERATIONS

The ESA Application Propagation Environments (APEx) initiative transforms Earth observation outcomes into scalable, reusable on-demand services. With FAIR principles, it offers tailored support ensuring seamless integration into cloud platforms, APEx guarantees long-term accessibility, usability and continued impact through the ESA Network of Resources

NEW OPEN DATA ON FIRE EMISSIONS

A new open access dataset from SENSE4FIRE study funded by ESA EO is available at TUD’s OPARA data repository. The dataset was derived and analysed in the Nature Geoscience paper by Forkel et al. (2024) which showed that smouldering woody debris in the Amazon and Cerrado biomes contribute up to 75% of burned biomass, releasing 40 million tonnes of CO2 during the 2020 wildfires.
